Job summary

Lenovo is seeking an experienced operations leader for an on-site role at our Whitsett, NC site in a fast-paced ecommerce setting. You will guide the small package order fulfillment area, manage daily workflows, budgets, staffing, and drive productivity and service improvements. This position reports to the site Sr.

Manager and requires data-driven decision making. Ideal candidates have 6+ years in operations management, experience with WMS systems (EXE, SAP, Oracle), and knowledge of Lean/Six

Qualifications

  • 6 years experience in operations management
  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (EXE, SAP, Oracle)
  • Experience in measuring delivery costs and quality against KPIs
  • Knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma/ISO continuous improvement
  • Safety program compliance with OSHA/DOT
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Access)
  • EMS experience in electronics manufacturing or distribution preferred
  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate costs and operational performance

Responsibilities

  • Lead and direct an aggressive operating plan in a fast-paced ecommerce environment
  • Manage daily small package order fulfillment and workflows
  • Set schedules and enforce policies and procedures
  • Direct budgeting, staffing, and unit objectives

Job description

This position is a work on site position at our Whitsett, NC site. We are currently considering candidates who live in the area and are able to commute to a from the site daily Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities

This position is in a fast paced and challenging Ecommerce environment. The ideal candidates will work with minimal direct supervision and will concurrently handle and prioritize many responsibilities within our small package order fulfillment shipping area. This position reports directly to the site Sr. Manager.

Key Primary responsibilities are:
  • Manages standard operating procedures and directs an aggressive operating plan
  • Operating in a goal driven environment that identifies and directs lean concepts and cost savings opportunities
  • Has face-to-face contact with client management and conforms to agreed upon operational metrics.
  • Challenge is to motivate and lead program operational needs while maintaining efficiencies and improving Serviceability
  • Oversees the daily organizational activities and facilitates the business unit's workflow
  • Manages and directs the daily activities of the small pack order fulfillment operations
  • Determines workflow and scheduling and enforces operational polices and procedures
  • Relies on experience and sound data to make business decisions that supports the organizational goals
  • Makes recommendations to improve the productivity, quality, and efficient delivery of products and services within the organization
  • Responsible for planning and directing operational budgets, goals, staffing and business unit's objectives
Position Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
  • Proven track record in operations management (6 years experience)
  • Intermediate knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (EXE, SAP, Oracle, etc...)
  • Metrics measurements (i.e. delivery, costs, quality audits, exceeding all internal KPI metrics)
  • Continuous Improvement Quality process (i.e. Lean Mfg, Six Sigma, ISO, internal initiatives)
  • Safety Program compliance (OSHA, DOT, and state and local agencies)
  • Proven competencies in (i.e. Word, Excel, Access, MS Office)
  • Electronics manufacturing or Distribution background required, EMS experience preferred
  • Analytical skills to evaluate, report, select and implement cost-effective, distribution operations
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated Leadership ability and a proven track record of success to support abilities
  • Excellent people skills and the ability to establish an environment that is conducive of continuous improvement, open communication and is free from controversy
  • Education: BS or BA degree or equivalent experience in Logistic Operations.
