Job summary

Sherwin‑Williams is seeking an on-site Manufacturing Technician to set up, run, and maintain production equipment for paint and coating products. You will ensure safe, clean, and efficient operation while supporting other teams to meet production targets.

Responsibilities include operating various equipment, loading materials, monitoring quality, and logging production data. The role emphasizes adherence to SOPs and teamwork in a rotating shift.

Qualifications

  • Minimum: 18 years old.
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Any specific manufacturing experience or distribution facility experience is preferred.
  • Experience monitoring gauges, dials, or machinery indicators is preferred.
  • Experience operating machinery in a manufacturing/distribution environment is preferred.
  • Experience monitoring quality of raw materials or finished goods is preferred.
  • Experience operating packaging equipment (robotics, filling, case packing, labeling) is preferred.
  • Experience using material handling equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, etc.) is preferred.
  • Experience mixing or blending materials in an industrial batch process is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operate paint-making control systems and equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Load and unload trucks with raw materials and finished goods.
  • Perform assigned manufacturing tasks and maintain logs and records.
  • Monitor raw materials and finished goods for quality.
  • Adhere to policies and standard operating procedures; report breakdowns promptly.
  • Provide technical support and training to teammates and keep work area clean.
  • Collaborate with other departments to complete production orders on time.
  • Maintain inventory of parts and supplies and keep equipment maintained.

Job Description

This position is an essential part of Sherwin’s manufacturing team. It is responsible for setting up, running, and maintaining manufacturing equipment to produce paint and coating products in accordance with customer requirements while ensuring a safe, clean, and productive working environment.

Shift

6:00 pm – 6:00 am, rotating 12‑hour shift; works every other weekend.

Responsibilities
  • Operate paint‑making control systems and manufacturing equipment such as high‑speed dispersers, pumps, valves, robotics, filling machines, case packers, labelers, forklifts, etc., efficiently and safely.
  • Load and unload trucks with raw materials and finished goods.
  • Perform assigned manufacturing tasks.
  • Monitor raw materials and finished goods for quality.
  • Comply with policies and standard operating procedures.
  • Keep equipment logs, perform minor repairs, and report breakdowns promptly.
  • Maintain production records and reporting as required.
  • Collaborate with other departments to complete production orders on time.
  • Monitor and replenish inventory of parts and supplies.
  • Provide technical support and training to other team members.
  • Contribute ideas to improve or optimize manufacturing procedures.
  • Keep tools, equipment, and the work environment clean and organized daily.
Minimum Requirements
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future.
Preferred Qualifications
  • At least one year of experience working in a manufacturing and/or distribution facility.
  • At least one year of experience monitoring gauges, dials, or other machinery indicators.
  • At least one year of experience operating machinery in a manufacturing and/or distribution environment.
  • At least one year of experience monitoring the quality of raw materials and/or finished goods.
  • At least one year of experience operating packaging equipment such as robotics, filling machines, case packers, or labelers.
  • At least one year of experience using material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, order pickers, vacu‑hoists, drum dollies, conveyor belts).
  • At least one year of experience mixing or blending raw materials and making a product in an industrial batch process.
