Qualifications

• High School Graduate.
• Certificate of completion from an operating room technician program.
• Minimum of one-year recent preoperative experience.
• BLS - Basic Life Support Certification (AHA).
• ORT Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists surgeons, nurses and anesthesiologists with instruments and supplies during intraoperative care.
• Maintains asepsis; prepares instrumentation and ensures proper counts of sponges, needles and sharps.
• Drapes, handles instruments, and assists with gowning and gloving as scrub technician.
• Prepares case carts and disposes of sharps, blood and waste per policy.
