Job summary

Saint Peter's is seeking an Operating Room Technician Per Diem to assist with surgical procedures under the supervision of a professional nurse. Responsibilities include setting up the OR with sterile instruments, acting as a scrub assistant, assisting with skin prep and draping, and maintaining equipment and supplies to support patient care across age groups.

The role requires a surgical tech program or equivalent training, on-call availability, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Surgical Technical Program, an accredited Practical School of Nursing, equivalent training or successful completion of an orientation program.
• Ability to work on call under direction of the RN.
• BLS administration required.

Responsibilities

• Set up Operating Room with sterile instruments and surgical supplies.
• Act as Scrub Assistant during general surgeries.
• Assist with skin preparation and draping of patient.
• Care for, prepare and maintain sterile and unsterile equipment, instruments and supplies.

Operating Room

The Operating Room Technician Per Diem will:
Under the direction and supervision of the professional nurse, performs various duties to assist with surgical procedures and related Operating Room activities, including but not limited to age specific care throughout the life span (Neonates, Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics). Under the direction of a professional nurse, functions as a Scrub Assistant during general surgeries. Sets up Operating Room with sterile instruments and surgical supplies. Assists with skin preparation, and draping of patient. Assists with the care, preparation and maintenance of sterile and unsterile equipment, instruments and supplies.

Requirements

• Graduate of a Surgical Technical Program, an accredited Practical School of Nursing, equivalent training or successful completion of an orientation program.
• Ability to work on call under direction of the RN.
• BLS administration required.

Salary Range:37.00 - 37.00 USD

We offer competitive base rates that are determined by many factors, including job-related work experience, internal equity, and industry-specific market data. In addition to base salary, some positions may be eligible for clinical certification pay and shift differentials.

The salary range listed for exempt positions reflects full-time compensation and will be prorated based on employment status.
