Job summary

Lee’s Summit Surgicenter is seeking a Surgical Technician to assist in safe patient care in the operating room under RN supervision. You will scrub and assist the surgeon, help turnover the OR, and ensure accurate data collection for the medical record in collaboration with the RN. Responsibilities include maintaining sterility, preparing the OR with supplies, and supporting efficient case turnover.

Candidates should have ARRT? certification?

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program (preferred).
• One year experience in an operating room setting (preferably ambulatory surgery center).
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program as required by facility practice and state regulation; otherwise preferred.
• Valid BCLS Certification upon employment; online certification not acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate practical, technical, or specialized skills required for the surgical technician role.
• Assist in preparing the operative suite by gathering supplies, equipment, and instruments.
• Maintain surgical asepsis in handling instruments, sponges, sutures, drains, needles, and dressings.
• Assist in turnover of OR suites between cases, dispose of trash/linens, and clean equipment and surfaces.
• Prepare procedure room for use the following day by setting up equipment and reporting shortages to supervisor.
