Operating Room Surgical Tech Supervisor - Specialty Focus (Hiring Immediately)

Overview

Southern New Hampshire Health (SNHMC) features nine operating room suites, 25 pre-op/PACU bays, and a sterile processing department. We offer flexible hours with 8-, 10-, and 12-hour shifts. Our dedicated call team operates Sunday through Thursday nights, starting at 7 PM, minimizing OR call duties. Our surgical services include a wide range of procedures utilizing the latest technology, including Periop-101 and other advancements.

About The Job

As part of the Surgical Services team, the Surgical Technologist identifies and prepares sterile instrumentation and equipment, assists with intra-operative procedures, and manages case closure protocols. The CST Specialty Coordinator acts as the resource and liaison for designated specialty areas, responding appropriately to emergencies when needed.

Responsibilities

1. Ensure the needs of surgeons are met.
2. Maintain and update preference cards within the specialty area(s).
3. Serve as the primary liaison for surgeons and surgical management.
4. Keep Clinical Nurse Manager and Director informed of issues.
5. Manage inventory and maintenance of supplies and equipment, focusing on cost containment.
6. Assist with quality improvement, continuing education, orientation, teaching, and preceptorship of new staff.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Tech in Surgery (TS-C).
• Current BLS certification.
• NH Medical Technologist registration (or current NH license).
• Ability to complete competencies within specified timeframes, including sterile field maintenance, instrument handling, surgical counts, and inventory management.
