Job summary

Hemet Global Medical Center in Orange, CA is seeking a Surgical Tech (OR) for varied 8-hour shifts on a part-time basis. The role ensures OR readiness, aseptic technique, and support for surgical teams.

The candidate will assist in procedures, manage instrument counts, and coordinate with perioperative staff. Prior surgical tech experience and a current BLS card are required, with strong English communication and physical stamina expected.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Surgical Technician
• Current BLS certification required
• Completion of course for surgical technicians preferred
• Must have strong English language skills (verbal & written)
• Candidates should have physical ability including heavy lifting and alertness

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms for surgery and maintain aseptic technique
• Assist in surgeries and provide equipment and supplies for cases
• Maintain accurate instrument, suture, and sponge counts
• Clear OR suites and handle equipment maintenance or repairs as needed
• Provide comfort and privacy for pre-operative patients and care for specimens
• Communicate risks and equipment malfunctions to the team
