Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is hiring an operating room support role in our perioperative services. The position maintains an orderly, aseptic environment and assists staff in caring for surgical patients. You will help with room preparation, turnover, cart staging, stock, and cleaning across the OR areas.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and valid BLS/Heart Saver within 1 month. Strong English communication and interpersonal skills are essential for teamwork with patients, families,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• BLS/Heart Saver certification within 1 month of employment.
• Strong English reading, writing and communication skills.
• Interpersonal skills to support collaborative work and exceptional patient service.
• Ability to stay calm under stress or in emergencies.
• Problem-solving with guidance when needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of Operating Rooms and perioperative areas.
• Ensure OR turnover occurs after procedures according to policy.
• Stage case carts and verify all carts are complete with OR nurse.
• Restock, maintain, and replace OR supplies and instruments daily.
• Maintain cleanliness and physical appearance of the unit.
