Job summary

UHC United Hospital Center is hiring for a housekeeping role to ensure a clean, safe surgical environment. Responsibilities include room turnover, cleaning equipment, stocking supplies, and assisting with patient transport as needed.

The position emphasizes adherence to infection control practices and collaboration with the care team, with a 40-hour weekly schedule and non-exempt status in the United States.

Qualifications

• Education: high school diploma or GED with willingness to obtain BLS within 30 days.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire is required or pursued during onboarding.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for room turnover by trash/linen removal, wipe furniture, and floor cleaning.
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment including anesthesia gear per practices.
• Clean Pyxis cabinets and schedules per practices.
• Transport case carts to/from Central Sterile Department.
• Assist in transporting and transferring patients as needed.
• Restock housekeeping supplies as necessary.
• Follow infection and hazardous material control practices to ensure safety.
• Participate in SSA orientee education with supervisor and educators.
• Assist with room turnover and end-of-day terminal disinfection of OR suites and SPD.
• Familiar with sterile field rules and assist with gowning/gloving as needed.
