Job summary

The role collaborates with the director to refine policies while promoting teamwork and efficiency. The position oversees a 24-hour shift, covers late cases, and leads staff development to maintain quality patient outcomes in the Surgical

Qualifications

• Must have knowledge of surgical procedures, aseptic technique, standards of care and hospital policies.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities to coach staff.
• Ability to ensure regulatory compliance (JCAHO, OSHA, EPA, licensing).
• Experience coordinating OR staffing and budgets.

Responsibilities

• Relief duties as needed for O.R. Clinical Director and other leadership during 24-hour shift.
• Covers late/call assignments to meet department case needs.
• Coordinates staffing and assignments of operating rooms based on patient needs.
• Prepares and submits budget requests to the O.R. Director.
• Negotiate products with vendors.
• Acts as a resource on supplies, equipment, procedures, and surgeon preferences.
• Delegates tasks to staff and supervises instrument/stock organization.
• Evaluate and coach performance of staff.
