Inova Health System seeks an experienced Operating Room RN for an OR Services Leader opening supporting Gastroenterology and Interventional pulmonology. Full-time, 4x10s, Mon-Fri, no holidays/weekends/overnights. Outpatient center on Inova Fairfax Medical Campus with strong safety, quality and patient experience track record.

Sign-on and relocation are available for qualified candidates. Minimum 2 years of OR nursing in Orthopedics/Spine; Virginia RN license; BSN preferred if ADN with 5-year BSN

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of OR nursing experience within Orthopedics or Spine.
• RN license in the Commonwealth of Virginia; BSN required within 5 years if ADN.
• BLS certification by American Heart Association; CNOR or equivalent within 12 months of hire.

Responsabilités

• Ensure the unit operates safely, efficiently and delivers high-quality preoperative care.
• Lead and mentor staff; advance cost-effective, patient-centered perioperative practices.
• Serve as clinical liaison for assigned surgical specialty and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Coach team on policy adherence and integrate patient experiences into decision-making.
• Drive continuous practice improvements and role-model preoperative service excellence.

Inova Professional Services Building - Surgery Center (PSB5) is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN for an OR Services Leader opening. This role will support the Gastroenterology and Interventional pulmonology service line.

Work Schedule: Full time, Monday-Friday. 4x10s (7am - 5:30pm)

(no holidays/weekends/overnights)

OR Services Leader Minimum Requirements:

• Experience: A minimum of 2 years of OR nursing experience within Orthopedics, Spine service line
• Education: Bachelor's Degree Nursing or Associate's Degree Nursing. If RN has an Associate's Degree Nursing, must complete BSN within 5 years of start date
• License: Must be licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse
• Certification: Basic Life Support with American Heart Association. CNOR or equivalent specialty certification within 12 months of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with and building preference cards
• Experience working with providers to figure out specialty equipment/supplies
• Experience with endoscopes

OR Services Leader Responsibilities:

• Ensures the effective and efficient functioning of the unit and the achievement of optimal patient outcomes. Delivers safe, high quality and cost-effective preoperative services. Demonstrates an integrated approach toward case/patient outcomes.
• Identifies strategies for cost-effective and efficient practices without compromising preoperative patient safety or outcomes. Promotes creative thinking among staff, peers and colleagues to develop new and innovative devices, practices and strategies to advance and improve preoperative nursing services.
• Serves as primary liaison, clinical lead and resource for the assigned surgical specialty and/or unit while ensuring unit compliance with quality, safety, regulatory requirements and the Joint Commission standards.
• Adheres to all Inova Health System's policies and procedures while coaching staff on compliance and consistently identifying clinical and operational variables affecting patient and case outcomes. Makes clinical decisions based on education and experience while integrating varied patient experiences into clinical decision-making. Mentors team members in identifying intra-operative outcomes.
• Ensures practice improvements by serving as role model, providing direction and providing guidance to others regarding preoperative services and specialty.
