Job summary

Inova Mount Vernon Hospital is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN to join our team. Eligible Nurses will qualify for sign-on & relocation bonuses. Work Schedule: Full-time, Shift Varies (with on-call requirement).

Inova Mount Vernon Hospital features 8 OR suites and serves a diverse patient population in robotics, general, orthopedics, spine, plastics, ENT, urology, and gynecology. The OR operates 24/7 with a call team for on/off shifts and holidays.

Qualifications

• Requires a minimum of 1 year of direct Operating Room experience as a Registered Nurse.
• BSN or ADN from an accredited school of nursing; if ADN, BSN within 5 years.
• Virginia RN license and Basic Life Support certification.

Responsibilities

• Performs comprehensive patient health assessments and synthesizes data for care planning.
• Formulates individualized plans of care based on assessments and trends.
• Supports patients and families through the healthcare continuum.
• Advocates for patients' rights and provides counseling to resolve issues.
• Addresses ethical, spiritual, and cultural needs in collaboration with staff.

Operating Room Registered Nurse Responsibilities:

• Performs comprehensive patient health assessments by interpreting multiple, sometimes conflicting, data sets and synthesizing their interrelationships.
• Formulates individualized plans of care based upon assessment findings and interpreting trends in patient populations to achieve best practice.
• Supports and empowers patients and families as they progress through the healthcare continuum from health promotion to end of life decisions.
• Advocates for patients' rights from the patient/family perspective and provides counsel and acts as a resource to resolve issues.
• Anticipates ethical, spiritual, and cultural needs of patients/families and assists staff in assessing patients' learning needs.
  

Operating Room Registered NurseRequirements:

• Experience:Requires a minimum of1 yearof direct Operating Room (OR) experience as a Registered Nurse.
• Preferred Additional Experience:AORN's Periop 101 curriculum completion.
• Education:BSN or ADN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an Associate’s Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
• License:Must be licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse.
• Certification:Basic Life Support with American Heart Association.
