Job summary

Eastern Shawnee Staffing Services seeks an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse for a long-term Indian Health Service assignment at NNMC in Shiprock, New Mexico. You will provide perioperative nursing care and assist surgeons and anesthesia providers throughout procedures.

This fully onsite, full-time role includes day shifts with on-call requirements, competitive compensation, benefits, and potential contract extension. Housing and meals per diem may apply when eligible.

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the United States
• Minimum of 2 years of operating room nursing experience
• PACU experience preferred
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
• Experience circulating in the OR; scrub experience a plus
• Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems
• Strong clinical judgment and communication skills
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain security clearance
• Immunizations up to date

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care before, during, and after surgical procedures
• Prepare and maintain the operating room, equipment, and sterile field
• Perform circulating and/or scrub duties as assigned
• Assist surgeons and anesthesia providers during procedures
• Monitor patients perioperatively and respond to changes in condition
• Maintain sterile technique and infection prevention standards
• Document patient care in the EHR
• Collaborate with surgical team to deliver high-quality care
• Participate in on-call rotation and respond to callbacks
