Job summary

BayCare Health System in Saint Petersburg, FL, is seeking a Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) to join the operating room team. The RNFA role requires proficiency in patient care with strong leadership and collaboration with surgeons.

Candidates should have at least 3 years of acute care OR experience, CNOR certification, and completion of the RNFA program or degree. This is a full-time, in-person position with daytime hours and on-call duties.

Qualifications

• RN with 3 years acute care OR operating room experience.
• CNOR required or preferred.
• Completion of RNFA program or degree.

Responsibilities

• The RNFA works in the operating room under surgeon supervision.
• Acts as a professional role model for nursing staff.
• Performs trocar placements and local injections under supervision as required.
• Develops self and team competencies and shares organizational information.
