Qualifications

• Active New York Nursing license or ability to obtain licensure.
• Associates Degree in Nursing required or underway with license eligibility.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications preferred during introductory period.

Responsibilities

• Consults and coordinates with health care team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans.
• Assesses patient physical condition.
• Reviews history & physical, vital signs, diagnostic studies, reports any abnormalities.
• Conducts pre- and post-operative education.
• Assess knowledge level, ability to understand and coping mechanisms of patient and support system and educate as needed.
• Appropriately utilizes Universal Protocol per Cayuga Medical Center policy.
• Communicates and documents monitoring and physiologic responses to interventions to alert surgeon/anesthesiologist of changes.
