Job summary

Memorial Hermann Health System is seeking a registered nurse to collaborate with physicians and the healthcare team in delivering high-quality patient care. You will perform nursing assessments, assist with exams and treatments, educate patients, and maintain medical records.

Full-Time/Varied Schedule with on-call and holiday expectations; OR RN experience preferred. New graduates may be considered depending on unit requirements and certification readiness.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing; Bachelors of Nursing preferred.
• Licenses/Certifications: Current State of Texas license or temporary/compact license to practice professional nursing; BLS certification.
• Additional certifications may be required based on discipline and/or nursing unit requirements
• Experience / Knowledge / Skills: RN I <1 year; RN II = 1-3 years; RN III = 3-10 years; RN IV = 10+ years
• Effective oral and written communication skills; commitment to MHHS core values and patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Delivers safe and appropriate care to patients according to nursing skills and patient needs.
• Coordinates planning for nursing care with interdisciplinary team and makes clinical decisions.
• Collaborates with healthcare team to achieve positive outcomes based on evidence and standards of care.
• Coordinates discharge and transfer plans; participates in program evaluation and care improvement.
• Provides patient-focused care across the continuum and adheres to service standards and budget considerations.
• Promotes professional growth and serves as a preceptor or mentor to staff.
