Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Operating Room in our Center for Performance Medicine Surgery. The role offers FT DAYS with 4x10s or 5x8s shifts, no weekends or holidays, and a $10,000 sign-on bonus for experienced OR RNs.

The center provides state‑of‑the‑art surgical care across multiple specialties and a supportive work environment. Responsibilities include patient assessment and care planning, coordinating with departments, and ensuring smooth OR workflow.

Qualifications

• 1 year of Operating Room or procedural experience.
• Nursing degree from accredited school.
• BSN preferred.
• Current RN license in the state.
• Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care.
• Coordinate patient care with other departments and staff.
• Organize and implement services in the operating room.
• Support department operations and orientation of new coworkers.

Works in conjunction with the Clinical Supervisor for that service. Performs the primary function of a Registered Nurse in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the care of their patients. Coordinates patient care in conjunction with other departments. Organizes and implements service in the assigned specialty area. Coordinates workflow in a timely efficient manner, including room set‑up and turn‑over, supplies and equipment needed prior to case start. Functions in a staff role as needed, including relief for breaks and lunches. Assists in department operational support tasks and duties. Assisting in orientation of new coworkers and permanent team members in conjunction with the Supervisor and the OR Nurse Clinician.

Overview:

The Mercy Center for Performance Medicine Outpatient Surgery Center provides state‑of‑the‑art surgical care for patients across a wide range of specialties. The center features 10 operating rooms, 2 minor procedure rooms, and 1 cystoscopy suite, making it one of the largest outpatient surgery centers in the United States. Each space is equipped with the latest advanced technology to support high‑quality patient care.

Surgical specialties offered include orthopedics, urology, plastic surgery, neurosurgery, and general surgery, ensuring comprehensive treatment options for diverse patient needs.

In addition to its operating rooms, the center includes a fully integrated surgical support environment with its own pre‑and post‑operative areas, PACU (Post‑Anesthesia Care Unit), 23‑hour observation unit, sterile processing department (SPD), and supply chain services.

Qualifications:

• Experience: 1 year of Operating Room or procedural experience

• Required Education: Nursing Degree from an accredited school

• Preferred Education: BSN

• License: current RN license in our state

• Certifications: Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association
