Job summary

Mercy St Louis Center for Performance Medicine Surgery is seeking a Registered Nurse - Operating Room to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care. This full-time role offers 4 x 10-hour shifts or 5 x 8-hour shifts, with no weekends or holidays.

Qualifications

• 1 year of Operating Room or procedural experience is required.
• Nursing Degree from an accredited school.
• BSN preferred.
• Current RN license in the state.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care in the OR.
• Coordinate patient care with other departments and services.
• Organize and manage workflow, room setup and turnover for procedures.
• Provide orientation and support for new coworkers with supervision.
• Support department operations and cover breaks and lunches as needed.

Overview

OverviewWorks in conjunction with the Clinical Supervisor for that service. Performs the primary function of a Registered Nurse in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the care of their patients. Coordinates patient care in conjunction with other departments. Organizes and implements service in the assigned specialty area. Coordinates workflow in a timely efficient manner, including room set-up and turn-over, supplies and equipment needed prior to case start. Functions in a staff role as needed, including relief for breaks and lunches. Assists in department operational support tasks and duties. Assisting in orientation of new coworkers and permanent team members in conjunction with the Supervisor and the OR Nurse Clinician.

orthopedics, urology, plastic surgery, neurosurgery, and general surgery , ensuring comprehensive treatment options for diverse patient needs.In addition to its operating rooms, the center includes a fully integrated surgical support environment with its own

pre- and post-operative areas, PACU (Post-Anesthesia Care Unit), 23-hour observation unit, sterile processing department (SPD), and supply chain services .Team members at the center benefit from an exceptional work-life balance, with no weekends, no holidays, and no on-call requirements , creating a supportive and highly desirable work environment.

Experience: 1 year of Operating Room or procedural experience
