Job summary

Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center's East Campus OR is seeking a Registered Nurse with 1–3 years of perioperative experience to join a growing team. This full-time role offers 40 hours with rotating shifts, including on-call nights, weekends, and holidays, plus a $15,000 sign-on bonus for experienced OR nurses.

You will provide direct perioperative nursing care, collaborate with surgeons and anesthesia, assess and plan care, and participate in quality improvement and professional development

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing strongly preferred.
• Current Registered Nurse license required; 1–3 years OR nursing experience described as preferred.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct perioperative nursing care using the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients and families.
• Use clinical judgment to identify patient needs, develop individualized care plans, and evaluate outcomes throughout the surgical experience.
• Coordinate patient care and guide assistive personnel to ensure safe, effective, efficient, and timely workflows.
• Build trusting, respectful relationships with patients and families through clear and compassionate communication.
• Advocate for patients and support their understanding of procedures, care plans, and recovery expectations.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and the broader care team to meet patient needs and support positive outcomes.
• Maintain required annual education, including emergency skills and unit based competencies.
• Identify opportunities for professional growth and participate in development activities with educators and clinical specialists.
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives that strengthen patient safety and care delivery.
• Demonstrate accountability for practice and adhere to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center values.
