Job summary

North Carolina Specialty Hospital is seeking an Operating Room Registered Nurse for a full-time role in Durham, NC. A $15,000 sign-on bonus is available for qualified candidates, with a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life and disability coverage.

The RN will provide perioperative nursing care across age groups, collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, and SPD staff, and participate in performance improvement activities to ensure safe, cost-effective patient care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; Associate's degree required; BSN preferred.
• Current RN license in North Carolina or compact multi-state license.
• BLS certification required at hire; ACLS & PALS preferred; obtain within 6 months if not active.
• CNOR certification strongly preferred.
• Familiar with perioperative instruments.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized nursing care to the surgical patient in the OR.
• Maintain patient safety by coordinating a safe plan of care.
• Follow age-specific standards and administer medications appropriately.
• Communicate effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
• Document care in the patient record and participate in Universal Protocol.
