Job description

Overview

Established by the Sisters of the St. Francis in 1924, CHI Health Good Samaritan is a 268-bed regional referral center in Kearney, Neb. At CHI Health Good Samaritan, you’ll find an advanced level trauma center that also offers AirCare emergency helicopter transport and an ambulance program providing long distance and local 911 service. Among our many other services are cardiac care including open-heart surgery, a level II neonatal intensive care unit, a nationally accredited cancer center, comprehensive neurosurgery, advanced orthopedic program, and inpatient and outpatient mental health services at our free-standing Richard Young Behavioral Health facility.

Responsibilities

This role will respond to traumas and support the anesthesia providers on acute surgical procedures

  1. Assist surgeon and surgical team in the OR
  2. Care for patients before, during, and after procedures
  3. Develop and implement nursing care plan for surgical patients
  4. Ensure operating rooms are prepped with all necessary equipment and supplies
  5. Demonstrate a high level of compassion for patients

Qualifications

We are looking for a responsible and compassionate Registered Nurse with top-notch clinical skills, a caring attitude, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. It is also important to display excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to effectively educate patients and their families on the in-home healthcare process.

Additional requirements for this role include:

  1. Current Registered Nurse (RN) license that allows you to practice in our state
  2. Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  3. Experience as a Registered Nurse preferred
  4. Basic Life Support (BLS) required
  5. Specialty certification (ex: CCRN, CNOR, CEN) preferred
  6. ACLS and PALS may be required within 6 months of hire

Pay Range

$36.00 - $52.20 /hour
