Old Tesson Surgery Center is a fast-paced Ambulatory Surgery Center located in St. Louis County with a focus on Orthopedics (sports medicine, total joints, orthopedic spine, etc.) and Podiatry. We are currently looking for a hardworking, efficient Operating Room RN Circulator to join our team.

The Operating Room Registered Nurse is responsible for nursing activities related to orthopedic surgical procedures, including patient positioning, prepping, and circulating the case.

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• One year previous OR experience.
• Current state license as a Registered Nurse.
• Current CPR, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize responsibilities.
• Ability to deal tactfully with patients, families, physicians, and staff.

Job Summary:

• Determine data collection based on patient's condition and needs.
• Address the physiological, psychological, socio-cultural, and spiritual needs/responses of the patient.
• Prioritize tasks and adapt to changing job priorities.
• Maintain accuracy and completeness in work.
• Follow AORN standards and function as a team member.
• Complete initial and annual competencies as required.
• Maintain licenses and certifications.
• Adhere to dress code, attendance, punctuality, and break policies.
• Communicate clearly and concisely.
• Attend required meetings.
• Maintain continuing education requirements.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• 1-2 years of surgical experience, orthopedic preferred.
• Current Missouri RN License.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.
• CNOR certification preferred.
• Critical thinking skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Knowledge of hospital policies and OR procedures.
• Proficiency in OR nursing skills; scrubbing experience a plus.
