Next Move Healthcare in Show Low, Arizona, seeks an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse to join its Surgical Services team. The circulating nurse coordinates perioperative care across multiple specialties in a busy OR suite with four rooms.

The role involves circulating throughout general surgery, orthopedics, neurosurgery, OB/GYN, and ENT, with a minimum of 1 year OR experience and ARIZONA RN licensure; strong assessment and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Current Registered Nurse license or eligibility for Arizona licensure.
  • Minimum of one year of Operating Room nursing experience.
  • Previous circulating experience.
  • Current Basic Life Support certification.
  • Strong understanding of perioperative nursing practices and sterile technique.
  • Ability to independently manage circulating responsibilities.
  • Strong patient assessment, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment.

Responsibilities

  • Function as the circulating RN during surgical procedures
  • Provide direct perioperative nursing care before, during, and immediately following surgery
  • Verify patient identity, surgical procedure, consent, and operative site according to safety protocols
  • Complete preoperative assessments and ensure required documentation is available before surgery
  • Coordinate communication between surgeons, anesthesia providers, Surgical Technologists, and other members of the perioperative team
  • Prepare the operating room and ensure appropriate equipment, supplies, implants, and medications are available
  • Maintain sterile technique and monitor the sterile field throughout procedures
  • Perform and document surgical counts according to established policies
  • Assist with patient positioning and ensure appropriate pressure-point and positioning precautions
  • Monitor patient safety throughout the procedure
  • Document intraoperative care accurately and completely
  • Coordinate specimen handling and labeling
  • Assist with room turnover and preparation between procedures
  • Respond appropriately to surgical emergencies and changes in patient condition
  • Follow infection-prevention, medication-safety, and perioperative nursing standards
  • Support procedures across multiple surgical specialties
  • Participate in weekend and call coverage based on department needs
  • Perform other Operating Room nursing responsibilities as assigned

Job Overview

A healthcare organization in Show Low, Arizona, is seeking experienced Operating Room Registered Nurses for permanent opportunities within its Surgical Services department.

The OR RN will function primarily as a circulating nurse, coordinating patient care throughout the perioperative process and supporting a broad mix of surgical specialties. The department includes four operating rooms and performs procedures across General Surgery, Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, OB/GYN, and ENT.

This position is ideal for an RN with at least one year of Operating Room experience who is comfortable circulating independently in a 1:1 surgical environment.

Responsibilities
  • Function as the circulating RN during surgical procedures

Qualifications
Required

Department Information
  • 4 operating rooms
  • Typical intraoperative nursing ratio of 1:1
  • OR RNs primarily function in the circulating role
  • No routine floating to other departments
  • Pharmacy available in-house 24/7
  • Hospital-provided blue surgical scrubs
Schedule & Call
  • 12-hour shifts
  • Current scheduling need: 6:00 PM–6:00 AM
  • Weekend requirements vary and will be discussed during the interview
  • Call rotation varies based on department needs and will be reviewed during the interview
  • No routine floating requirement
