Job summary

AMN Healthcare is seeking an OR RN in Phoenix to support surgical teams before, during, and after procedures. You will educate patients and their families, and may act as circulating nurse, scrub nurse, or First Assist as needed.

You will work in the hospital operating room across various specialties, ensuring the highest standard of patient care in General, Orthopedic, Neuro, Spine, Urology, and Cardiac/Thoracic ORs. Per diem shifts may be available.

Qualifications

• Must have active RN license in the state of practice.
• BSN or ADN with successful NCLEX completion.
• ACLS certification is often required.

Responsibilities

• Provide care before, during, and after surgery as an OR RN.
• Educate patients and families about procedures and post-operative care.
• Serve as circulating nurse and/or scrub nurse; assist as First Assist when needed.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure optimal patient care across various OR settings.

Job description

OR RN's provide care for patients before, during, and after surgery. Duties include patient education, circulating nurse and/or scrub nurse, and potentially First Assist. Work alongside surgical teams to make sure that patients are receiving the best possible care; serve as liaisons between the surgical team and the patients ' families. OR RN’s work in the operating room of a hospital. There are several types of operating rooms depending on the type of surgery such as: General, Orthopedic, Neuro, Spine, Urology, and Cardiac/Thoracic.

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN): 4-Year Education
• Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN): 2-Year Education
• You must earn an ADN or BSN degree and pass the NCLEX to apply for a license as a RN.
• RN‘s can only work with an active state license.
• ACLS is often required
