Job summary

HCA Healthcare is seeking an Operating Room Nurse Manager for the Tallahassee Outpatient Surgery Center. You will provide clinical management and leadership for OR nurses, surgical technicians, and sterile processing staff to deliver high-quality, efficient care.

The role offers potential for growth within the organization and requires active RN licensure, BCLS and ACLS as per facility, with CNOR preferred. Located in Tallahassee, FL, the center serves Leon County and surrounding areas.

Qualifications

• Registered Operating Room Nurse with clinical management responsibilities.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in an operating room setting, preferably in an ambulatory surgery center.
• Active RN license as required by state of employment or appropriate compact licensure.
• BCLS Certification required upon employment; online certification not acceptable.
• ACLS as required by facility.
• CNOR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise all surgical areas of care.
• Establish and maintain an effective relationship with the Administrator.
• Ensure day-to-day operations follow clinical standards and policies.
• Ensure sufficient staffing daily and communicate scheduling changes.
• Participate in monitoring and evaluating nursing care.
• Provide breaks and coverage for meal breaks, late cases, and shortages.
• Monitor materials for upcoming cases and ensure readiness.
• Facilitate efficient transitions between surgical procedures.
• Delegate, coach, mentor, and resolve conflicts within the team.
• Build trust and gain respect through effective leadership.

Job Summary and Qualifications

Seeking a registered Operating Room Clinical Manager in our ambulatory surgery center who provides clinical management and expertise over operating room nurses, surgical technicians and central sterile processing staff to ensure patients receive high quality, efficient care. As a clinical manager, you will have the opportunity for future growth and upward mobility within the organization.

What you’ll do:

• You will manage and supervise all surgical areas of care

• Establish and maintain an effective and supportive working relationship with your Administrator

• You will ensure that the day‑to‑day operations are conducted in accordance with clinical practice standards and policies of the center

• Ensure sufficient staffing daily by notifying your team of scheduling changes

• You will participate in the monitoring and evaluation of nursing care provided

• Accessible to your staff by providing breaks, ensuring coverage for meal breaks, late cases and staffing shortages

• Monitor your clinical area to ensure materials are provided for upcoming cases

• You will facilitate effective and efficient transition between surgical procedures

• You will delegate, coach, mentor and handle conflict resolution with your team

• Ability to build trust and gain the respect of your team through effective leadership

What you should have for this role:

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing

• Minimum 1 year of experience in an operating room setting, preferably in an ambulatory surgery center

• Active RN license as required by state of employment or appropriate compact licensure

• Valid BCLS Certification upon employment ***online certification not acceptable

• ACLS as required by facility

• CNOR certification preferred

Tallahassee Outpatient Surgery Center is located in Tallahassee, Florida and opened for business in 1992. We serve the residents of Leon County and surrounding areas. The center is located near beautiful beaches and great shrimping areas. Our AAAHC accredited center performs over 400 procedures a month. Services in orthopedic, spine, podiatry, and pain management are offered.
