Job summary

LiveWell Homecare Agency seeks an experienced perioperative RN to provide direct patient care in a fast-paced surgical setting, including assessment, planning, and evaluation, while educating patients and families about procedures.

You will scrub and/or circulate across specialties, liaise between physicians and patients, and mentor staff, helping advance safety, quality, and patient outcomes with access to modern technology.

Qualifications

• RN license required.
• 2-5 years of perioperative nursing experience.
• CNOR and Periop 101 preferred.

Job description

This position involves providing direct patient care in a fast-paced, perioperative environment, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation within established nursing standards. The nurse educates patients and families about surgical processes, serves as a liaison between physicians and patients, and demonstrates competence in scrubbing and/or circulating roles across various surgical specialties.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure patient safety by adhering to safety protocols, preparing surgical instruments and supplies, and monitoring for complications.
• Participate in activities promoting safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
• Assist in patient education and support, acting as a communication bridge between medical staff and patients.
• Label and preserve operative specimens; furnish emergency equipment as needed.
• Contribute to professional development and mentor new staff.

Qualifications & Skills:

• RN license with 2-5 years of perioperative nursing experience.
• Certifications such as CNOR and advanced perioperative courses (Periop 101) are preferred.
• Strong critical thinking, judgment, and communication skills.
