Job summary

The University of Iowa Health Care – North Liberty is seeking a Staff Nurse for the Operating Rooms to support the Nursing team in delivering patient care under the Nurse Manager’s supervision.

This full-time role (90–100%) offers an attractive sign-on incentive up to $10,000, rotating 10- to 12-hour shifts, and weekend/holiday coverage as needed. Iowa nursing licensure is required by date of hire and prior OR experience is highly desirable.

Qualifications

• An Associate’s Degree in Nursing, a Diploma in Nursing, a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing, Professional Masters of Nursing and Healthcare Practice (MNHP) MSN/Clinical Nurse Leader or a Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN, MA) is required
• Current license to practice nursing in Iowa is required by date of hire

Responsibilities

• Applies nursing theory to assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and evaluation of patient responses
• Assesses patient health care preferences and expectations
• Collaboratively coordinates the continuum of care across settings
• Develops patient care plan based on patient condition and needs
• Implements patient care plan according to priorities and nursing diagnoses
• Collaborates with families to integrate care into the plan
• Coordinates transfer/discharge planning throughout episode of care
• Implements nursing interventions per policies to maintain a safe environment
