Job summary

Jupiter Medical Center is seeking an OR Lead Radiologic Technologist to coordinate imaging for scheduled surgeries and collaborate with OR staff. You will manage staffing needs, allocate technologists, and ensure smooth equipment movement for current and future cases.

The role requires Florida licensure, ARRT, BLS, and strong communication skills. You will report to the Radiology department supervisor and participate in daily OR huddles when possible.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Graduate of a Diagnostic Imaging accredited program or equivalent.
• 2 years OR experience.
• Certificate or Registry of Diagnostic Imaging accredited program
• Florida State Licensure; Certified Radiologic Technologist
• BLS Certification by the American Heart Association
• ARRT certification, Florida Radiological Technologist licensure. Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with OR staff and monitor scheduled cases requiring imaging.
• Carry a department phone or vocera.
• Inform department supervisor/charge technologist how many technologists are needed.
• Assign technologists to cases and perform cases.
• Facilitate movement of equipment to proper locations for cases.
• Communicate with supervisor regarding equipment service calls or failures.
• Integrate back into department workflow when imaging is not needed.
• Attend OR huddle daily when possible.
• Maintain proficiency in general radiology exams and x-rays.

The OR lead will be in charge of coordinating with OR staff and monitoring scheduled cases requiring imaging. The OR lead will be required to carry a department phone or vocera. The OR lead will be responsible for informing department supervisor and or charge technologist how many technologists they will need to accommodate the OR. The OR lead will assign technologists to cases & perform cases themselves. The OR lead will be responsible for facilitation the movement of equipment to proper location for future and current cases. OR lead must communicate with supervisor regarding all equipment service calls or equipment failures. If no OR requiring imaging is scheduled or all image required cases are finished for the day, the OR lead will integrate back into department workflow to help in the department. OR lead will proactively look at the future schedule and attend OR huddle (if possible) everday.Technologist must still be proficient in general radiology exams and x-rays. Performs other duties assigned.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to sit, stand, walk for long periods of time, be flexible enough to twist, bend, lift, assist, transport patients via wheelchair & stretcher. Be able to lift a minimum of 40 lbs., perform CPR and patient assessment.

Threshold Requirements

These thresholds requirements are required and completed yearly basis, Annual Joint Commission mandatory education requirements, in-service and health requirements including attendance at new employee orientation, TB/PPD, Surveillance Program. Maintenance of required professional licensing and/or certification(s).
