Job summary

NewYork-Presbyterian is seeking an Operating Room Instrument Coordinator - Central Sterile for the mid-shift (12:00pm–8:00pm). The role focuses on standardizing instruments, coding and tracking inventory, and supporting QA processes to aid the OR and Central Sterile Services.

On-site with competitive benefits. Preferred criteria include 5–7 years in OR or Central Sterile Services, and a bachelor’s degree in health care or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in health care or equivalent experience.
• Clinical expertise in Central Sterile or operating room settings.
• Experience with Materials Management and information systems.

Responsibilities

• Determine instrument needs and resolve issues between Central Sterile and OR.
• Code and track instruments using the department’s database.
• Support QA reporting and cost containment initiatives.
• Prepare monthly QA reports for the Operating Room Director.

Operating Room Instrument Coordinator - Central Sterile - Full-time - Mid-Shift In this dynamic role, you will have the opportunity to implement cost saving measures and cost containment strategies through product standardization and consolidation, access and conduct new product trials, assists with the development, implementation, and monitoring of the daily QA reporting system in addition to preparing monthly QA report for Operating Room Director. Determine instrument needs and resolve instrument issues by acting as a liaison between the Central Sterile Processing Department and the Operating Rooms. Responsible for instrument coding and tracking system which includes an automated data base of all instruments ordered and received, tracking and recording instrument expenditures for operational budget development. Preferred Criteria: 5-7 years Operating Room or Central Sterile Services experience

Required Criteria: Bachelors Degree in health care or equivalent experience Clinical expertise within field or specialty Demonstrated skill in Materials Management and Information Systems
