Job summary

NewYork-Presbyterian Westchester Hospital in Bronxville, NY is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant for the 5 South Med/Surg unit. This part-time role covers 7:00am - 3:15pm with rotating weekends and holidays.

As a CNA you will monitor vital signs, assist with meals and transport, provide compassionate patient care, and support nursing staff under RN supervision. The hospital emphasizes teamwork, safety, and patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• One year in acute care setting preferred or CNA certification.
• Current CPR Training (AHA BLS).
• Experience as nurse's aide in a hospital setting or in BSN clinical practicum preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor blood pressure and temperature of patients.
• Assist with meals delivery and safe patient transport.
• Provide comfort and maintain a clean, safe environment.
• Record vital signs and report to RN.

Nursing Assistant - 5 South - Med/Surg - PT - Days At NewYork-Presbyterian, certified nursing assistants thrive at the bedside as invaluable care providers. Together, we serve as critical points of contact for patients and their families.

Provide comfort and caring as a certified nursing assistants at NYP-keeping our fast-paced environments running smoothly.

Provide compassionate patient focus and perform select care duties under the supervision of a registered nurse. Improve the patient experience and maintain a safe, clean and healthy environment. Measure and record temperatures, pulses, respiration and blood pressure. Demonstrate what it means to be part of a team and raise the bar for patient care.

This is a part time night shift position covering the hours of 7:00am - 3:15pm with rotating weekends and holidays at NewYork-Presbyterian Westchester Hospital in Bronxville; right across from the Metro North Station.

Preferred Criteria

• High School Diploma or GED
• One year in acute care setting preferred or certified long term care Nursing Assistant
• Current CPR Training from the American Heart Association (BLS)
• Previous Nurse’s aide experience in a hospital setting or certification from an approved accredited Nurse Aid training program or currently enrolled in a BSN program for nursing, at the junior year level or had completed at least one clinical practicum
