Job summary

The MetroHealth System is seeking a Housekeeper at METROHEALTH MEDICAL CENTER in Cleveland, OH. You will perform housekeeping tasks in the Operating Room area after surgeries, ensuring clean, sanitary conditions and adherence to infection control standards.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent and 1–2 years of housekeeping/janitorial experience, ability to operate standard cleaning equipment, and completion of sterilization training within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 1 year housekeeping, janitorial, and/or service-based experience, or 2 years of housekeeping, janitorial and/or service-based experience in lieu of high school diploma or equivalency.
• Proficient in operation and care of equipment normally associated with the department (e.g., high-speed buffer, battery-powered scrubber, wet/dry suction equipment, scaffolding).
• All qualified applicants must successfully complete the sterilization technique training within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to read and write English.

Summary

Preferred

• Experience working in a healthcare setting.

Physical Requirements

May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day. May need to sit or stand for extended periods. See in the normal visual range with or without correction. Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. Ability to push/pull 70-150 pounds. Ability to lift 10-40 pounds. Requires some exposure to chemicals, bioburden, and cleaning products.
