Qualifications

• Current RN license in the State of Texas or compact license.
• Completion of charge nurse training and competencies.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Specialty Certification (CCRN, CEN, RNC, etc.) or plan to obtain within 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Provides front line leadership and decision-making for departmental staff.
• Develops staffing plans based on patient acuity and oversees day-to-day operations.
• Monitors workflow and adjusts staffing to support unit goals.
• Coordinates patient flow, admission, and discharge processes for the unit.
• Supports department/organizational objectives including patient experience and quality measures.
• Participates in process improvement and peer evaluation activities.
• Assists with investigations and audits as required.
