Job summary

Cass-Health in Atlantic, IA is seeking a Registered Nurse – Operating Room Circulator to join our Surgical Services team. You will provide patient advocacy and coordinate care before, during, and after procedures with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and perioperative staff.

The role requires a nursing degree, Iowa RN license or reciprocity, and BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications, with experience in perioperative settings preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Iowa RN license or reciprocal license.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
• Perioperative or OR nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative patient assessments.
• Advocate for patient safety, privacy, and dignity throughout the surgical experience.
• Verify patient identity, procedure, site, consent forms, allergies, and required documentation.
• Assist with room setup, equipment, implants, medications, and supplies.
• Maintain accurate perioperative documentation in the EMR.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and perioperative staff.
