Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Supports the total surgical process as a team member.
• Organizes time, equipment, supplies and personnel for efficient case management.
• Supervises and directs patient care in the operating room.
• Organizes nursing activities efficiently and effectively.
• Delegates activities appropriate to staff abilities.
• Assists with supplies, drugs, and equipment inventories to maintain stock levels.
• Addresses patient needs specific to the surgical procedure.
• Transports patients to/from the OR while observing safety policies.
• Verifies patient identity and planned procedure with the healthcare team.
• Reviews patient records to provide continuity of care with other team members.
• Maintains patient privacy and dignity.
• Prepares the OR according to requirements for patient, physician, and procedure.
