Job summary

Archbold Medical Center is seeking an Operating Room Assistant-Surgery to support patient care in the OR environment. You will assist with patient transport and positioning under RN and physician supervision, maintain sterile surroundings, and ensure proper room setup and cleaning between cases.

The role requires physical stamina, the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and solid communication with physicians and staff. Prior medical experience is preferred, and commitment to teamwork is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous medical experience preferred.
• Capable of interpreting and following instructions.
• Must demonstrate good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Must maintain positive relationships with physicians and staff.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
• Assist with transport and positioning of patients under supervision.
• Perform cleaning of operating rooms and equipment between cases and at day end.
• Execute daily and weekly housekeeping duties in the department.
• Ensure proper room setup after cleaning and monitor assigned rooms.
• Cooperate with staff to complete tasks and respond to emergencies.
• Maintain equipment and supplies in clean, functional condition.
• Work required hours and be flexible for extended shifts.
