Under the direction and supervision of licensed personnel, the Operating Room Assistant II assists in providing direct patient care and tasks required for daily unit functions.

Minimum Training and Education
  • At least 1 year work experience in a 0.6 fte Operating Room Assistant II position at MUSC CHS or 1 year of patient care work experience in a healthcare facility;
  • or a college degree, or active enrollment in nursing school with completion of Nursing Fundamentals from an accredited institution;
  • or active enrollment in a healthcare related field from an accredited institution;
  • or a Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant, or equivalent training.
Required Credentials
  • Basic Life Support required within 2 weeks of hire; thereafter, must maintain.
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required.
Work Schedule
  • May require working irregular hours, rotating shifts and weekends.
  • Monday - Friday 4 / 10 hour shifts, 2 pm - 10 pm.
