Job summary

The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) is seeking an Operating Room Assistant II to assist in direct patient care and unit tasks. Position involves working 2 pm–10 pm on a 4/10 schedule with possible weekend and rotating shifts, located at West Ashley. Requires BLS and healthcare experience or related degree.

This role supports OR teams, adheres to safety protocols, and participates in on-call and disaster response activities as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum training: 1 year of OR Aide II experience at MUSC CHS or 1 year patient care experience in a healthcare facility; or college degree; or active nursing student with Fundamentals completed; or healthcare-related field enrollment; or Nursing/Medical Assistant training.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 2 weeks of hire; current BLS certification (AHA or Red Cross) required.

Responsibilities

• May require working irregular hours, rotating shifts and weekends.
• Monday - Friday 4 / 10 hour shifts, 2 pm - 10 pm
• Holiday Call and Disaster Teams
