Job summary

University Hospitals Pain Management is actively seeking an OR Assistant to support the daily flow of activities in the operating room. You will help clean and disinfect OR suites, transport patients and equipment, stock supplies, and perform other duties as assigned to maintain safe, courteous patient care.

You will collaborate with the operative teams to ensure smooth turnover between cases, communicate clearly, and participate as a productive member of the OR Assistant team.

• Facilitate the efficient turnover of operating rooms between cases and preparation for the following case.
• Transport patients, trays, blood gases, specimens and equipment.
• Support operative team with various requests while cases are in progress.
• Communicate clearly and collaborate effectively to enhance patient care and facilitate daily operations.
• Participate as a productive member of the OR Assistant team.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Complies with all policies and standards.

Job description

A Brief Overview

Supports and assists operative teams with the daily flow of activities of the operating room (OR) and patient care by cleaning/disinfecting the operating room suites and related areas, transporting patients and equipment, stocking supplies, and performing other duties as assigned.Successful performance of this role helps UH provide safe, helpful and courteous care to patients and directly provides safe, helpful and courteous support services to operative teams.Initiates and performs tasks according to established guidelines.
