Job summary

Mount Carmel Health System in Central Ohio is seeking an Operating Room Assistant to support registered nurses, performing patient care tasks in a setting attentive to physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs. Under supervision, you will help position patients, maintain sterile technique, assist with room turnover, and manage supply and linen inventory, while adhering to aseptic standards.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent; healthcare experience is preferred; BLS

• Adheres to aseptic technique principles.
• Maintains OR supply inventory and linen.
• All other duties as assigned.

Description

Position Purpose: In accordance with the Mission and Guiding Behaviors; the Operating Room Assistant, under the direction of a Registered Nurse, will provide patient care tasks, in an atmosphere sensitive to each person’s physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs. Functions within the standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines of the Organization.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: High school graduate or equivalency required.
• Experience: Previous healthcare experience preferred.
• Effective Communication Skills Demonstrates effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication.
• Math computation skills.
• BLS healthcare provider training required.
