Job summary

Indiana University Health in Indianapolis is seeking an Operating Room Assistant to support the surgical team before, during and after procedures. You will assist with room setup, transportation, and patient care under supervision of Surgical Techs and Nurses.

Applicants should have a High School Diploma or GED; prior hospital experience is preferred and a Basic Life Support certification is required. The role requires adherence to sterile field protocols and physical stamina.

Qualifications

Overview

Works as a member of the surgical team with surgeons, anesthesiologists, registered nurses, surgical technologists and other surgical personnel.

Requires a High School Diploma/GED.

• Previous experience in a hospital environment preferred.
• AHA Basic Life Support for healthcare workers certification required.
• Requires strict adherence to policies and regulations regarding maintenance of sterile field.
• Requires physical stamina and proper lifting techniques.
