Job summary

McDonough District Hospital in Macomb, IL seeks an Operating Room Aide to provide non-licensed support in perioperative services, assisting with room prep, turnover, supply management, and transport to promote safe, efficient surgical care.

Under RN or Surgical Services leadership, you may be cross-trained to assist other departments as needed; high school diploma and BLS/CPR are required, with ability to lift and move equipment.

• Expected pay for this position is $17.55-$23.69. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity.

Job Summary

The Operating Room Aide provides non-licensed support to the perioperative services department by assisting with operating room preparation, room turnover, supply management, equipment transport, specimen transport, and other support functions that promote efficient surgical services. The Operating Room Aide works under the direction of the Registered Nurse, Surgical Services Leader, Charge Nurse, or Surgical Technologist and contributes to a safe, clean, and efficient environment while allowing licensed staff to focus on direct patient care. This position may be cross-trained to assist in other departments based on organizational needs.

Job Specifications

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to safely lift, transport, and move equipment and supplies.
