Job description

Amentum has an Operating Engineer (HV Shop) position opening at our Springfield, VA location. The licensed Operating Engineer operates and maintains one or more systems that provide an establishment with services such as heat, air‑conditioning, refrigeration, steam or high‑temperature water or electricity in the CUP.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Observe and interpret readings on gauges, meters and charts which register various aspects of the system and meet demand for the service provided.
• Record logs in various aspects of the system’s operation, keeping the engines, machinery and equipment in good working order.
• Direct and coordinate activities of other workers in performing tasks directly related to operating and maintaining the system or systems.
• Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
• Must be skilled in the repair of electronic control equipment; works in establishments producing electricity, steam, or heated or cooled air.
• Ability to lift 45 lbs.
• Must possess and maintain an active DoD TS clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI.

Minimum Knowledge/Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• MD stationary engineer license level 1 or DC stationary engineer level 3 required.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen and possess an active Top Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI.

Compensation Details: US $49.12 per hour
