Job summary

Trace3 is seeking a Sr. Platform Operations Engineer, DevOps, to support Space Programs within a Rapid Deployment Team. You will deploy, integrate, operate, and sustain mission-critical systems in classified environments, with a focus on OpenShift platform operations and Rundeck-based automation.

The role requires TS clearance, hands-on OpenShift and automation skills, and collaboration across multiple domains in a fast-paced setting. On-site in multiple locations with competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• Active Top Secret clearance; SCI preferred.
• Hands-on OpenShift platform operations, Linux and/or Windows administration.
• Experience with Ansible, Puppet, and Rundeck for operational automation.
• Strong troubleshooting across distributed systems and infrastructure layers.
• Security compliance, system hardening, audit readiness in mission-critical environments.
• Excellent communication with operations, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and program teams.
• 5+ years in infrastructure engineering, platform operations, or operational support.
• Experience developing Rundeck workflows for automation and incident response.
• Certifications such as Security+, RHCSA/RHCE, CISSP, or CKA.
• Experience with modernization initiatives like 1LMX or similar.

Responsibilities

• Oversee deployment, configuration, lifecycle management, and sustainment of OpenShift environments within classified networks.
• Ensure platform reliability, availability, and integration with mission applications and infrastructure services.
• Design, maintain, and execute Rundeck runbooks for deployment workflows and incident response.
• Ensure operational automation is consistent, repeatable, and auditable.
• Provide hands-on Linux and Windows administration, including patching and lifecycle upkeep.
• Act as a senior escalation point for outages, deployment failures, and platform instability.
• Conduct root-cause analysis and restore mission capability quickly.
• Maintain adherence to security controls and accreditation across classified environments.
• Coordinate resolution across infra, cybersecurity, networking, and program stakeholders.
• Mentor engineers during active operations to improve team effectiveness.
