Job summary

ATR, LLC is seeking a RedHat OpenShift Engineer to install, secure, monitor, and troubleshoot OpenShift clusters on customer site in Springfield, VA. The role requires active TS/SCI clearance and willingness to obtain a CI Polygraph, with DoD cyber security compliance.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years deploying OpenShift on-prem, strong RHEL/Linux administration, and experience with GitLab CI/CD and DevSecOps. On-site work with leadership responsibilities and collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

• Experience deploying OpenShift in on-premise environments.

• Requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with 10+ years if applicable.
• RHEL Linux administration experience 5+ years.
• Preference for NetApp storage management experience.
• Preference for Cisco networking management experience.
• Preference for ESXI VM management experience.
• Preference for RHEL certification.
• Must have Security+ or DoD 8570 Level II within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Install, secure, monitor, test, configure, migrate, maintain and troubleshoot OpenShift clusters.
• Architect OpenShift to meet application requirements (compute, storage, networking, operations).
• Perform OpenShift cluster upgrades and security patches.
• Administer Red Hat Enterprise Linux and container orchestration.
• Manage Kubernetes networking and troubleshooting (DNS, load balancers, node ports).
• Develop system specifications per government standards and document parameters.
• Revise systems/procedures to improve data handling and storage.
• Install and maintain storage, networking, and server hardware.
• Ensure development systems availability via monitoring and remediation.
• Apply DoD cyber security updates and regulations.
• Oversee efforts of less senior staff assigned to the project.

Job Description:

• Performs installation, securing, monitoring, testing, configuration, migration, maintenance and troubleshooting of OpenShift Cluster.
• Architecting OpenShift as needed to meet application requirements (compute, storage, networking, and operations)
• Performing OpenShift cluster upgrades and security patches as needed
• Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux system administration
• Experience with container orchestration and administration
• Experience with Kubernetes networking & troubleshooting (DNS, load balancers, service IPs, node ports, etc.)
• Develops computer systems specifications that fit with the government's system architecture standards. Establishes and documents system parameters and formats, ensures hardware and software systems compatibility and coordinates and/or modifies system parameters in terms of existing and projected computer capacity and capabilities.
• Revises existing systems and procedures to correct deficiencies and maintain more effective data handling, conversion, input/output requirements, and storage.
• Responsible for installation and maintenance of storage, networking, and server hardware.
• Ensures availability of development systems to end users through continuous system monitoring and issue remediation.
• Applies required security updates and implementations mandated by DoD cyber security regulations.
• Oversee the efforts of less senior staff and/or be responsible for the efforts of all staff assigned to a specific job.

What You'll Need to Succeed:

• Experience deploying OpenShift in an on-premise environment - 5+
• Experience with GitLab CI/CD Platform
• Experience with DevSecOps implementations on OpenShift
• Requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience - 10+ years of related experience
• Requires RHEL - Linux administration experience - 5+ year or more experience
• Preference to administrators experienced in Netapp storage management
• Preference to administrators experienced with Cisco switch and networking management
• Preference to administrators experienced with ESXI VM management
• Preference to administrators experienced with RHEL certification
• Must have Security+ certification or DoD 8570 Level II equivalent within 90 days of hire
• TS/SCI Clearance required and eligibility to obtain CI Poly
• RHEL, Windows, and/or Storage administration
• Experience working with trouble reporting and tracking systems such as Service+
• Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
