Job summary

Kaztronix is seeking a Senior RHEL Engineer to lead deployment and management of Red Hat OpenShift clusters, ensuring high availability and security on a government facility.

You will develop automation scripts for provisioning, configuration management, and deployment, and build CI/CD pipelines for automated release in cloud environments. This role requires on-site presence in Colorado Springs and a Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Active Secret Clearance required.
• US Citizens only due to federal requirements.
• 7+ years of hands-on RHEL experience.
• 4+ years of hands-on OpenShift experience.
• On-site position at a government facility in Colorado Springs.

Responsibilities

• Architect and deploy containerized applications using OpenShift with high performance and scalability.
• Implement and optimize monitoring with Prometheus, Loki, Grafana for real-time health tracking.
• Transition OpenShift operations to partially disconnected environments while deploying security updates.
• Automate cluster provisioning and scaling to reduce deployment time and human error.
• Manage multi-cluster OpenShift across production and development with 99.99% uptime.
• Document knowledge and train team on Red Hat Advanced Cluster Manager and Kubernetes management.
• Integrate Red Hat Satellite for patch management across environments.
• Develop and implement disaster recovery plans and backups for critical systems.
• Configure and manage network services (DNS, DHCP, NFS) in RHEL.
• Kernel tuning and system optimization.
• Enforce security policies with SELinux and firewalls.
• Root-cause analysis and corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Cloud security best practices including IAM, encryption, network security.
• Monitor cloud resource usage for cost efficiency and performance.

A Global Defense Contractor is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior RHEL Engineer to join our team. As a Senior RHEL Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the deployment and management of Red Hat OpenShift clusters, ensuring high availability and security. This role involves developing and maintaining automation scripts for system provisioning, configuration management, and deployment.

Responsibilities

• Architect and deploy containerized applications using Red Hat OpenShift, ensuring optimal performance and scalability.
• Implement and optimize monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Loki, Grafana) for real-time tracking of application health.

Requirements

• An active Secret Clearance is required.
• Due to federal requirements, only US Citizens can be considered. Candidates with dual citizenship cannot be considered.
• 7+ years of experience with hands on RHEL. Should demonstrate a solid RHEL career that advances throughout.
• Demonstrated focus on system integrations, cloud technologies, and DevOps.
• 4+ years should include hands on OpenShift experience.
• This is an on-site position at a government facility.
• Requires presence on-site five days per week in Colorado Springs, CO.
• Candidates must reside within a commutable distance.
• Participation in a rotational on-call schedule is required.
• Other tasks as assigned
