Job summary

Matlen Silver is seeking a DevOps Engineer to configure and maintain Red Hat OpenShift containers and WAS environments. You will support builds and deployments across releases, monitor applications, troubleshoot issues, and move solutions to production.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment to implement design-based solutions. You will configure and manage Kubernetes/OpenShift, maintain WAS servers, build processes, and CI/CD pipelines.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with OpenShift, Kubernetes and Docker.
• Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment automation.
• Experience with AI-powered development tools and AI tooling (Copilot, generative AI).
• Experience with Bitbucket, Ansible, Jenkins, Git, and monitoring/logging tools such as Splunk and Eclipse.
• Familiarity with code review and static analysis tools such as SonarQube and Crucible.
• Experience building or maintaining solutions on AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud Platform.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Configure, deploy, administer, and troubleshoot Kubernetes and OpenShift.
• Maintain containerized apps, WAS servers, build processes, and deployment plans.
• Build and improve CI/CD pipelines and automation using Bitbucket, Ansible, Jenkins, and Git.
• Develop automation scripts and IaC for provisioning, deployment, and operations.
• Support Java/J2EE enterprise applications and use monitoring tools to resolve issues.
• Design and maintain cloud-native solutions while monitoring performance, availability, scalability, and cost.
