Job summary

True North Consultants, Inc. is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead a new restaurant from opening forward. You will establish culture, standards, and systems while operating the venue hands-on in a high-volume, full-service setting.

You will recruit and develop a strong management team, oversee scheduling and labor, manage reservations and capacity, and partner with culinary leadership to ensure FOH/BOH alignment. A focus on guest experience and community presence is essential.

Qualifications

• GM experience in a high-volume, polished full-service restaurant.
• Experience with seafood/raw bar/steakhouse or elevated dining.
• Experience opening new restaurants highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of food, wine, spirits, cocktails, and elevated service.
• Ability to recruit, train, and retain a strong team.
• Excellent labor, scheduling, COGS, inventory, and P&L knowledge.
• Experience managing reservations and maximizing capacity.
• Strong organization and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day restaurant operations.
• Recruit, hire, train, coach, and develop management and hourly staff.
• Maintain service, hospitality, cleanliness, and standards.
• Manage scheduling and labor performance.
• Monitor financial metrics: sales, COGS, inventory, purchases, and cash controls.
• Collaborate with culinary leadership to ensure FOH/BOH consistency.
• Lead meetings, pre-shifts, training, and development.
• Maintain strong on-floor management presence.
• Handle guest feedback and build relationships with regular guests.
• Maintain facility standards and restaurant readiness.
• Identify operational issues and implement proactive solutions.
• Develop managers and nurture future leaders.
