Job summary

The Middlesex County Open Space and Farmland Preservation Trust Fund seeks an Open Space Steward/ Youth Corps Supervisor to help manage open space parcels across Middlesex County. They will direct volunteers and oversee the Middlesex County Youth Conservation Corps, carrying out conservation and educational activities.

Responsibilities include natural resource stewardship, trail maintenance, invasive species control, and wildlife habitat projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Natural Sciences or related field or equivalent work experience.
• Experience in natural resource management or park maintenance preferred.
• Knowledge of local flora & fauna a plus.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience with trail maintenance tools.
• First Aid/CPR/Wilderness First Responder training a plus.
• GIS/Esri knowledge a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee natural resource stewardship of open space parcels.
• Assist in trail maintenance, invasive species control, and habitat projects.
• Coordinate recruitment and supervision of volunteers and Youth Conservation Corps.
• Support open space acquisition projects as needed.
