Across these research thrusts, AI, cybersecurity, advanced sensing, and cyber-physical systems provide strong interdisciplinary connections, enabling impactful applications in healthcare, aerospace, energy, transportation, defense, and next-generation communications. ECE faculty currently manage nearly $20 million in externally funded research grants, with annual research expenditures exceeding $2 million. The School of ECE offers B.S., M.S., M.Eng., and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering and a B.S. degree in Computer Engineering with an option in Software Engineering. ECE also participates in a new interdisciplinary M.S. in Artificial Intelligence program with multiple tracks, including Computer Science (CS), Computer Engineering (CpE), and Healthcare Administration (HCA). ECE’s baccalaureate programs are ABET accredited. Candidates must have an earned Ph.D. or equivalent in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or a closely related engineering field. Successful candidates will be expected to teach electrical and computer engineering courses; develop an externally funded, internationally recognized research program; demonstrate excellence in undergraduate and graduate teaching; advise graduate students; and contribute service to ECE and the profession. Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively are expected. Engineering experience in industry or government laboratories is desirable but not required.
