Job summary

Mercy University’s School of Social and Behavioral Sciences invites applications for an Open Rank, multi-year contract Professor in Social Work to support the undergraduate BSW program and contribute to the development of a future MSW program.

The candidate will have a PhD in Social Work, an MSW from a CSWE-accredited program, and current social work licensure, with at least two years of practice experience and undergraduate teaching experience.

Qualifications

• PhD in Social Work from an accredited institution.
• MSW from CSWE-accredited program.
• Current licensure in social work.
• At least two years of professional social work practice experience.
• Experience teaching at the undergraduate level.
• Familiarity with CSWE standards.
• Engagement in scholarship, publications, presentations, or grants related to social work.

Responsibilities

• Teach in the Social Work program and perform service and field education coordination.
• Serve as Practicum Education Coordinator for the BSW program and developing MSW program.
• Teach four courses per semester; courses may include practice, policy, research, HBSE, and field seminar.
• Instruction may be in-person at Dobbs Ferry and Bronx campuses or via distance learning.
